Rubio’s in Karstadt Half MarathonThe 130th INTA annual meeting in Berlin may have proved that the organization has the versatility of holding an event anywhere in the world. However, some sacrifices were made which did not make the meeting as traditional as it had been for years. Among these, is the sports program which in previous years included a 5k run, tennis, sailing and other sports.
However, Mr. Humberto Rubio, Mr. Felipe Rubio and Mrs. Tineke Stol decided to participate in the Karstadt Half-Marathon. This event took place in Essen, Germany - 4 hour train ride from Berlin - on May 18th at 10:00 a.m. The 13.1 (21 Kilometer) course took our members the following time to complete: -Mr. Humberto Rubio finished first in his age group with a time of 1 hour 39 minutes and 26 seconds. -Mr. Felipe Rubio finished 5th overall with an official time of 1 hour 20 minutes and 35 seconds. -Mrs. Tineke Stol finished 16th in her age group in a time of 2 hours 1 minute and 45 seconds.

So, what had become a great INTA tradition every tuesday for many years, was removed from the program alltogether. Our efforts to find the reason why this happend went in vain, as no answer was received to e-mails sent to various INTA personnel.
